Authority correspondence: requesting a registration certificate and clarifying the submission route
The situation
Ms Draskovic (fictional) is applying for a university place and must prove her addresses for 2017 to 2021. She knows exactly which certificates she needs but not the intended submission route or the fee. She writes to the responsible registration service with her request and three questions.

Why is the letter structured this way?
- The subject line names the request, the name and the date of birth — the usual identifiers.
- The request itself comes first, numbered, with exact periods and addresses.
- Personal data is grouped so no follow-up question is needed.
- The questions only concern the process: route, fee, duration — no legal classification.
- Offering to submit further documents keeps the case moving.
What would you have to adapt for your own case?
Names, dates, amounts, facts, reference numbers, recipients and the requested outcome always have to be adapted to your own case. Without that adaptation the text does not fit.
- Adapt the requested documents and periods exactly to your needs.
- Replace personal data and delivery address.
- Check the responsible office first — the text deliberately names no authority.
- Ask only about process, form, fee and duration, not for an assessment.
- Only mention a deadline or reason if it genuinely exists.
