Amtwort

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Short answers about services, prices, express processing and documents.

Amtwort provides assistance with German-language official and formal correspondence. The English version of this website is provided to make the service easier to understand.

When do I need Authority correspondence rather than “Reply letter”?
“Reply letter” assumes there is a specific letter to answer. Authority correspondence is right when you want to apply for, report or clarify something yourself and no letter exists yet — we draft the German letter and, based on publicly available official information, identify the competent body and the intended submission route. You do not have to get the classification right yourself: we review it before accepting the order.
Which documents does Amtwort work on?
Official and formal letters, notices, forms, invoices, payment reminders and correspondence with authorities, insurers, landlords, property managers and companies.
Does my letter have to be in German?
Yes. The service covers German-language written communication. The Hungarian and English versions of this website exist only to make the offer easier to understand.
Does Amtwort provide legal advice?
No. Amtwort provides linguistic, editorial and organisational support. Legal assessments and decisions must, where needed, be made by appropriately qualified professionals.
Can Amtwort write an objection or complaint for me?
We can organise, structure and phrase your own information and arguments in clear German. What we do not do: assess the case legally, judge the chances of success, recommend legal remedies or represent you. The substance and the decision remain yours.
How is the price determined?
Through fixed packages based on the service, number of pages, number of documents and desired result. The price is shown before you order. Only particularly extensive or complex cases receive an individual quote.
What happens if I pick the wrong package?
If the uploaded material does not match the selected package, Amtwort may reclassify the order before processing. If this changes the price, you must approve the difference beforehand. No additional amount is ever charged automatically.
How many pages may my document have?
The packages cover up to 10 pages of source material. More than 10 pages requires an individual review.
Can I upload several documents?
Yes. Several related documents are possible; together they count towards the scope. With many attachments an individual review is required. Allowed formats are PDF, JPG, PNG, DOC and DOCX up to 10 MB per file.
What does express processing mean?
Processing within 24 hours for a surcharge of 50 %. Particularly short-notice processing is possible at +100 %, only by individual arrangement and subject to availability.
When does the 24-hour period start?
Only once the order has been accepted, payment has been received where applicable, and all required documents and information are complete.
Can every request be handled as an express order?
No. Express depends on scope, complexity and availability. For cases that require an individual review, express is not automatically possible.
How do I receive the finished document?
In writing by email, usually as a PDF and, for reply letters, additionally as an editable text file. The whole process is digital.
What happens to my uploaded documents?
They are treated confidentially and used solely to handle your matter. Details on storage and deletion are in the privacy policy.
Can I order a landing page directly?
A simple, single-language one-page website with client-supplied content has a fixed price of €590. Multilingual or more extensive websites, additional pages, special functionality or content creation receive an individual quote.
What happens with very complex cases?
Cases with more than 10 pages, many attachments, extensive case history, unclear legal questions or significant additional research are not directly orderable. After an individual review you receive a quote with price and timeframe.
How can I contact Amtwort?
Via the contact form on the contact page or by email. Customer service is provided exclusively in writing. You receive the reply in writing by email.
Is there telephone support, a callback service or a personal conversation?
Customer service and order handling are exclusively written. There is no telephone support and no callback service; callback requests sent by email or through the contact form are answered in writing. A personal conversation is available only as a separately booked, paid online meeting (30 minutes €59, 60 minutes €99) and is not part of customer service.
Where do I ask questions about an existing order?
Through the customer-service form on the contact page with the topic "Question about an existing order". Please include the order number if possible. New standard orders go through the ordering form instead.
What is an order number?
A unique reference for an accepted order. You receive it with the order confirmation; it helps us match your message quickly and is only needed for existing orders.
How do I submit a very extensive case?
Via the contact page with the topic "Individual review of an extensive case". Such cases are not directly orderable or payable; they are reviewed manually first, after which you receive a quote with price and timeframe.
How can I book an online appointment?
You choose the duration (30 or 60 minutes), select an available appointment and complete the booking, including payment where required. You then receive the meeting information in writing. Appointments are scheduled with a few days' notice.
Is the online meeting free of charge?
No. The online meeting is a separately booked, paid service and not part of customer service. Payment is made in advance at booking. The duration is fixed; a delay does not extend the appointment, and additional time requires another booking.
Can form assistance also take place together in an online appointment?
Yes. You can choose whether to receive the form assistance in writing or together in a paid online appointment. The online appointment costs €59 for 30 minutes and €99 for 60 minutes; the minimum duration is 30 minutes.
What is the difference between written form assistance and form assistance in an online appointment?
Written form assistance is asynchronous: you upload the form and documents and receive written help understanding the fields, assigning your information and phrasing free-text fields (€39 or €69). In the online appointment we go through the form together, for example using screen sharing (€59 for 30 minutes, €99 for 60 minutes). If a written order cannot reasonably be handled asynchronously, we may propose an online appointment — only with your explicit consent and approval of the price difference.
Does Amtwort decide what I should tick in a legally relevant field?
No. Amtwort explains wording, structure and the information requested and helps with understanding and formulation. Amtwort does not check whether legal, tax or other professional requirements are met and does not select a legally relevant declaration for you. The online meeting is likewise not legal, tax or other regulated professional advice.
In which countries is Amtwort available?
Standard fixed-price orders are available to customers resident in Austria, Germany or Switzerland. From other countries you can submit an individual inquiry, and if Amtwort can provide the service you receive an individual offer.
Can I use the Hungarian or English website if I live in Austria, Germany or Switzerland?
Yes. German, Hungarian and English are interface languages only and are independent from your country of residence. The service itself still relates to German-language official and formal correspondence.
Why is my country of residence required when ordering?
Your country of residence determines which country-specific contractual and consumer-information requirements apply. Only the stated country of residence is relevant, not the selected website language.
Is Amtwort a writing service or an advisory service?
Amtwort is a writing service. We read, explain and draft written official and formal correspondence in German. We are not an advisory service: no legal, tax or other regulated advice and no representation before authorities.
How do I choose the right service?
Go by what you need at the end: if you only want to understand a letter, choose "Understand a letter". If you need a finished reply, choose "Write a reply" or "Correspondence with authorities". For forms, choose form assistance. If you are unsure, simply describe your case in the inquiry form — we classify it and name the matching service with its price.
What happens if I selected the wrong service?
That is not a problem. The selection in the form is not binding. If your case fits another service or tier better, we propose it before the contract is concluded and state the price. Work only starts once you expressly agree to the classification; if the price is higher, you must expressly confirm the difference.
How detailed does my description need to be?
A few sentences are enough to start: what it is about, who sent the letter, what you want to achieve and whether a deadline applies. You have up to 10,000 characters but do not have to use them. Documents matter more than length: upload the letter or form and we will need fewer follow-up questions.
What if my German is not perfect?
That is expressly fine and one of the most common reasons to use Amtwort. You may describe your case in German, English or Hungarian — with mistakes, incomplete or in bullet points. Errors in your description do not affect the result: the finished letter is written in correct, factual German. Only the correspondence itself remains in German.
What exactly does correspondence with authorities include?
Correspondence with authorities is for cases where more than a single letter needs answering: we read the case including its history and attachments, identify what must be responded to, and draft a complete official letter with correct salutation, reference numbers, statement of facts and deadline reference. Standard €89 (one case, manageable scope), Plus €129 (several related letters or a longer history). Not included: legal assessment, representation before the authority and sending in your name.
What is included in the €590 standard landing page package — and what is not?
Included: one page, one language, up to 6 content sections, simple responsive design, a contact section, a standard call to action and 2 rounds of corrections after the first preview. You supply texts, images and business details. Not included: online shop, payment processing, booking or appointment system, login or customer area, multiple languages, additional subpages, extensive copywriting, ongoing maintenance and SEO campaigns. Such requirements are only possible after an individual review and quote.
Do I need to know about domains and hosting — and who owns them?
No, no prior knowledge is needed. Domain and hosting are booked in your own name so that they remain permanently under your control, but you do not have to manage the setup alone. On request Amtwort recommends a simple, suitable setup, provides an easy-to-follow step-by-step guide and supports you in writing during setup where needed. If you get stuck somewhere, you can for example send us a screenshot. You never have to disclose passwords, payment data or two-factor codes to Amtwort. Registration and payment with the provider are done by you; the recurring costs are not part of the fixed price. That is exactly why the domain, the hosting contract and the finished page belong to you: costs stay transparent, there is no lock-in and no obligatory maintenance contract, and if you later choose another provider or developer, your infrastructure remains yours.
What is the €249 Business Start Writing Package?
The package covers up to 5 individual German-language emails or letters within 60 days relating to the same founding project — based exclusively on the information, documents, recipient and objective you supply. Each finished letter is delivered digitally in ready-to-send form, with one correction request per letter as long as recipient, subject and objective stay the same; as a rule about one finished page per letter and up to 10 pages of source material in total. A new recipient, a new subject or a new intended result counts as a new letter. Unused letters expire after 60 days and are not refundable, transferable or exchangeable for another service. Express processing is not included. Also not included: start-up, legal, tax or business consulting, a business plan (not even parts of one), financial, revenue or cost planning, market analysis, founding or process plans, checklists, identifying competent bodies, checking required steps or deadlines, deadline monitoring, arranging appointments, filling in or submitting applications, communication or representation on your behalf, and support by telephone, in person or in digital meetings.
Can I order the landing page and the Business Start Writing Package together?
Yes. Together both standard packages cost €749 instead of €839. The same limits and exclusions as for the individual packages apply: for the page one page, one language, up to 6 sections, content supplied by you, domain and hosting in your name; for the letters up to 5 individual emails or letters within 60 days for the same founding project. In the bundle too there is no start-up, legal, tax or business consulting, no business plan, no process accompaniment, no checking of competences, no checklists and no deadline monitoring. If part of it exceeds the standard scope, the bundle is reviewed and quoted individually.
What is a landing page, exactly?
A landing page is a simple, clear website for your business, similar to a digital business card. It lets you briefly show what you offer, how to reach you and, if you wish, a few prices, photos or references. It is especially suitable for self-employed people and small businesses who want to be found professionally online without needing a large or complicated website.

No legal advice

Amtwort does not provide legal advice, tax advice or any other regulated professional advice, and does not act as legal representative. The service is limited to linguistic, editorial and organisational support with German-language written communication. Legal assessments and decisions must, where needed, be made by appropriately qualified professionals.
