About
Who is behind Amtwort
Amtwort is run by Anita Herczeg. Before Amtwort, she spent more than twelve years working in international IT and service environments, including at Credit Suisse in Zurich and on projects for IBM, Apple, eBay and Deutsche Telekom. Five of those years she worked in IT service at the Austrian Federal Chancellery in Vienna.
Structured communication, documentation, clearly defined processes and explaining complex information in an understandable way were part of everyday work.
She had already learned how to write formal and official correspondence through dedicated training. In her later roles, this was complemented by regular internal training in communication, documentation, customer contact and professional written expression. Especially in large companies and the public sector, a text must not only be correct. It has to be clear, easy to follow and understandable for the person receiving it.
Over the years, the same thing kept coming up: many people know exactly what they want to say, but not how to put it so that their concern is understood and taken seriously.
That is exactly how Amtwort came about.
Amtwort grew not only out of professional experience, but also out of a genuine curiosity about language, bureaucracy and the question of why official communication so often sounds more complicated than it needs to.
Today, Amtwort combines this experience with one simple goal: to make official letters easier to understand and to write fitting replies, clear, factual and without unnecessary bureaucratic language.
Morris is also a permanent member of the Amtwort team, as assistant. He is in charge of break supervision, attendance and the occasional sceptical look at needlessly complicated letters.
